is an open and inviting group for young people in grades 6 – 12 from all backgrounds and churches that comes together for fellowship, serviceto others, and worship opportunities. Our purpose is to provide a warm, fun, welcoming and safe environment where we can come closer to God through helping others in need, creating sincere and lasting relationships with each other, and sharing our gifts with the congregation and community. Join us for one, some,
or all of our activities throughout the year.
Friends are always welcome and the door is always open!
Youth Mission Trip
Each summer youth entering grades 9-12 and graduating seniors participate in a week long mission trip to repair homes with Appalachia Service Project (ASP). Adult leaders and youth travel by van to West Virginia, North Carolina or Tennessee to serve folks in Appalachia living in homes in disrepair. Projects can range from manual labor (digging trenches, clearing rubbish) to painting, roofing or construction. We spend the week learning new skills, serving our neighbors, building relationships, playing games, experiencing new ways to worship and ultimately coming closer to God through all of it! The cost of the trip including transportation is approximately $400 per participant, but the youth group decided to each pay $150 and raise the rest of the funds throughout the year. Some of our current fundraisers include a Chili and Soup Cook-Off with a Chocolate Challenge for dessert, Car Washes in the church parking lot, Souper-Bowl-Soup-to-Go, and an Advent Festival with Pasta lunch. Check the Youth Group Schedule for Mission Trip meetings and fundraisers during the 2014-2015 academic year or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
