Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Responding to
Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas

Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas as a Category 5 hurricane on Sept. 1  and stalled over the islands for 24 hours, causing massive damage. The official death toll is 50, with 2,500 still unaccounted for.

PDA is working with partners in the Bahamas to respond to immediate needs.The Rev. Edwin González-Castillo, Associate for Disaster Response and Refugee Ministry - Latin America and the Caribbean, says the No. 1 way anyone who wants to can help is financial donations. “It gets there faster, it helps the economy there, and it lets organizations on the ground who know the needs buy things that are needed,”

To make a donation toward Presbyterian Disaster Assistance's Dorian relief efforts, write a check payable to Concord Church, memo: "PDA - Hurricane" and place in the offering.

Fantastic Fish
Saturday, September 21

Meet the many fish of the Christina River and the marsh at the DuPont Environmental Education Center. Study fish anatomy and use body parts to predict what fish eat, how fast they swim, and if they are a hunter or the hunted. Use a spinning cast net, reel in fish traps, and dip with nets to try your luck catching fish.

Open to all ages. Fee to participate – $3.50 (50% discount). Please contact Christina Pressley for more details or to sign-up.
