Adult Ministry
“We will feed the spiritual and intellectual hunger of God’s people.”
An adult education class is typically held from 9:30-10:20 a.m. on Sunday mornings in Jessie’s Room (A108, near the church office). Adults gather to have discussions, learn from video class instructors, or hear from outside speakers on a particular topic. A variety of church members share faith journey stories. Classes are occasionally only for a particular Sunday, but more often are in a series from 2-6 weeks. Please review the schedule in the latest issue of our newsletter and plan on attending one or all of the Adult Ed classes we offer here at Concord. *link to current options*
Mug & Muffin Bible Study – Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m., we gather in the Sanctuary Lounge to reflect on the scripture for the upcoming Sunday with the one who will preach on it and prayerfully share joys and concerns (as well as delicious muffins and coffee!).
“Voices from the Wilderness: The Lives and Writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and C. S. Lewis” – Thursdays 7:00 – 8:00pm (via Zoom) May 7 through June 11
Pastor Steve is leading a six-week study that looks at the lives and writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and C. S. Lewis. Though very different in their personal experiences and style of writing, these two were among the most influential Christian thinkers in the 20th century and continue to be influential today. The study will explore how their lives and times shaped their writings, and what lessons we can draw on for the challenges we face in our own journeys of faith. Recordings of previous Zoom sessions, as well as a list of suggested readings for further learning, can be accessed through Study Links button at right.
A women’s circle meets monthly for Bible Study and fellowship.
Faith in Literature Group – This group meets monthly in members’ homes to reflect on spiritual themes in literature.
