 Lent III - Youth Sunday
Sunday, March 15
 - 10:30am
John 4:5-42 & excerpts from Exodus, chaps. 16 & 17
As we continue in the wilderness of Lent, the children and youth of Concord Church are looking forward to leading worship for Concord this Sunday through music, prayer, and scripture. In addition to the stories of the Woman at the Well and the struggle of the Israelites fleeing Egypt, we will hear from one of our youth, Teyton Pressley, about his wilderness experience and from our high school senior, Nicolas Harpey, about what it’s like to experience God through two faiths (Catholicism and Presbyterianism), what his journey has been like thus far, and what the future holds. Join us!

Responding to the Coronavirus Outbreak

Your session and staff are mindful of the fear and uncertainty we're all going through related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and what it means for our families, our local community, our world, and for our Concord family. We have received helpful guidance from our denomination, and from the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) on how we might most appropriately respond to provide support and care, and to ensure that our own practices minimize the likelihood of spreading illness. As so many medical experts are advising us, we encourage you to wash your hands thoroughly and often, to keep your hands off of your face, to disinfect the surfaces in your home and office, and to remain home if you are feeling sick.

We are currently developing plans for steps we can take now to minimize the possibility of transmission in worship, Sunday school, and other activities of the congregation. We will be communicating those steps in the coming days, with at least some of the details coming to you by this Sunday. We will also communicate those details in a letter and email as soon as they are finalized - again, by early next week at the latest.

In the meantime, let us all be praying for those already affected by the virus, for families and friends of those who are seriously ill or have died as a result, and for wisdom for health professionals and government leaders in our community, our nation, and around the world.

The Peace of Christ be with us all,
Pastor Steve
