Keeping you connected to the life and ministry of
Concord Presbyterian Church!

By Gerbrand van den Eeckhout - Walters Art Museum

For this Sunday, READ Acts 10 and REFLECT: What questions or thoughts do you have after reading this story? What similarities do you see in the story with the story of Saul's conversion we read last Sunday (Acts 9:1-20)? What differences do you notice? Have you ever had an experience of being led by God to speak with someone about something in their life or in yours? What was that like?

REOPENING? NOT YET.

At its June 3 meeting, Session discussed issues and timing surrounding gathering in our building once again for Sunday worship and other events. Click here to read their letter with details about the path ahead.

Updated Guidelines for Entering the Building

Our building continues to be closed for worship and group gatherings at this time, with special Session-granted exceptions for weddings and funerals that adhere to current state of Delaware restrictions and guidelines. Session has approved the recommendation of the Preschool Board, and the Concord Preschool has reopened under applicable state restrictions. You are free to enter the building on an individual basis if you have critical tasks you need to perform in the building or items you need to pick up or drop off but you MUST follow the guidelines EACH TIME you enter the building.

Family Fellowship at Concord - Saturday, June 13

Chalk & Ice Pops Provided!

The Church Officer Nominating Committee needs three members of the congregation to help with the task of nominating candidates to serve as Elders and Deacons for the coming three-year term (2021-2023). These three "at-large" members of the committee cannot be currently serving on the Session or Board of Deacons. If you have a name (or names) to suggest, please email them to Pastor Steve. Three names will be selected from those suggested and presented to the congregation for election at a special congregational meeting this summer (date/time still to be determined - though it will likely be a "virtual" meeting done electronically).

Wanted: Mask Makers

Concord Mission Committee's first mask giveaway to the Fairfax community was a great success - 100 masks were picked up by our neighbors in less than 24 hours, and many notes of appreciation were posted. Our next undertaking was providing masks for all Concord Preschool staff members in anticipation of the Preschool reopening on June 15. Now we are taking on a project providing masks for a Ministry of Caring youth event on August 1, possibly followed by a second Fairfax giveaway.
Needless to say, we could use some help with this ambitious agenda. We would like to recruit more mask makers and would also appreciate donations of suitable fabric for our masks. If you can assist with either of these needs, please call or email Dottie Harding or Marj Johnson

Concord Photo Gallery

If you have photos you'd be willing to share with your Concord family, please send them to Margaret. Show us how you're coping with social distancing and working from home, how you're worshiping, hobbies and activities you're involved with, interesting hairdos you're sporting in these days of no barbers/stylists...! We'll try to share your photos in Concord Connects as space permits.

Dottie Harding's new grandson Porter, born in Colorado in early June to Dottie's daughter Anne & husband Clay. Their dog Bede lends a paw.

Click on photo to view Aleea Brutus' 6th birthday parade, including Matthew Pressley playing "Happy Birthday" on the flute-a-phone and Pastor Steve singing in Spanish.

Dear family,
I hope you can see the video. We had so much fun and this was AMAZING!!!! I love to see so many people that we love and we did not see for so long. Take care and stay safe.
Love, Aleea, Anais and Charles
