Keeping you connected to the life and ministry of
Concord Presbyterian Church!

Sunday, July 19, 2020 -
Rev. Kathie S. Pownall preaching

For this Sunday, READ Matthew 25:31-46 [The Message translation if you can]. Consider if you are "baahing or bleating" - goat/sheep comparison. This parable summarizes the point of Jesus' ministries and is quite important for us to receive and consider mindfully. Administer justice? How do we do that? What issues in our world require our attention paid to "justice"?
IDEA: Consider the words that others say and whether you keep silent or if you say something. The sermon will contain two stories upon which to reflect. Imagining and helping create a society where justice and mercy meet and enrich each other may be the hardest, most essential, and at times the most uncomfortable work we are called to by the Gospel of Jesus.

Concord Photo Gallery

If you have photos you'd be willing to share with your Concord family, please send them to Margaret. Show us how you're coping with social distancing and working from home, how you're worshiping, hobbies and activities you're involved with, special events, children or pets being adorable...! We'll try to share your photos in Concord Connects as space permits.

Wanted: Mask Makers & Material

Concord Mission Committee has just completed a project to provide Ministry of Caring with about 130 masks for a youth event and is now contemplating a second Fairfax community mask giveaway. The first was very well-received, with 100 masks distributed in less than 24 hours.
We are always anxious to recruit more mask makers and would also appreciate donations of suitable fabric for our masks. (Men's dress and sports shirts are an excellent source of fabric, and old sheets provide great lining.) If you can assist with either of these needs, please call or email Marj Johnson

Kindergarten

If you are worried about sending your child to public school in the fall, we have the solution for you. Concord Kindergarten has been operating a quality program at Concord Preschool for over 60 years.
We offer a small class size (max. 15), with lots of individual student attention from our qualified kindergarten teacher and our experienced aide.
Now more than ever we might suit your needs for a smaller group setting where your child is exposed to fewer individuals. While we have always used professional cleaners, a small classroom size enables us to ensure our classroom is sanitized to the new Covid-19 guidelines.
Visit our website for details on the curriculum and activities we offer your child. Our kindergarten hours are 9:00am-3:00pm, but your child is eligible for FREE childcare whenever we are open (7:30am-5:30pm).

As we all try to adjust to changes in our plans that we did not expect, please consider kindergarten at Concord for your child and share our offering with friends and neighbors.
