Keeping you connected to the life and ministry of
Concord Presbyterian Church!

Grieving Thomas (Thomas Meets the Risen Christ) by Lauren Wright Pittman © A Sanctified Art

"Don't Forget to Breathe" -
Pastor Steve Clark preaching
Sunday, August 2, 2020

For this Sunday, READ John 20:19-29 and REFLECT: For centuries, Thomas has been tagged with the title "Doubting." But the word Jesus uses (v. 27) is not "doubt," but "unbelieving." Do you see any difference in these terms? Do either of them describe your own faith at times in your life - or even now? In the first part of this text, Jesus tells the disciples that he is now sending them just as the Father sent him. Then he breathes on them, giving them the Holy Spirit. What does it mean to you that Jesus has "breathed on" you and "sent you" just as he was sent by God? How does that image help or confuse your understanding of what it means to follow Jesus?

TO JOIN US in worship this Sunday, August 2, CLICK ON THE PICTURE above to go to the home page of our Concord website. Near the bottom left on the home page, click on that same picture to connect with the worship video. The worship video will be accessible after 9:00am each Sunday morning.

Concord Worship Video Access on TV

Both Xfinity (Comcast) and Fios (Verizon) have YouTube apps on TV as part of their offering. Since Concord's worship videos are now searchable on YouTube, folks can access our videos on their TV without using an interconnected laptop, tablet, or smart phone.

·        For Xfinity cable users, simply say “Concord Presbyterian Church on YouTube” into your voice-activated remote control. There is more than one Concord Presbyterian Church on YouTube, and our videos will appear among those. Our latest video was among the first three that showed up on my screen last Sunday morning; it indicates Wilmington DE in the description underneath the icon.

·        For Verizon FIOS users, you may or may not have voice activation, but should be able to search YouTube on your TV for “Concord Presbyterian Church."

Watching the service on the larger TV screen is very enjoyable, and for some, the sound quality will be higher also.

Technology Committee

Blessing Bags

Concord's Youth Group and Mission Team got together last weekend to collect donations from the church and community, then assemble Blessing Bags for distribution to our homeless neighbors. They put together 55 bags, each containing water, snacks, and personal hygiene items that can be kept in your car to be given out when you see someone in need. If you would like a bag or two, please call or email the Church Office (margaret.oboyle@concordpc.org, 302/654-9652, ) to arrange for a contactless pick-up.
