Keeping you connected to the life and ministry of
Concord Presbyterian Church!

Sunday Worship - August 30, 2020
Pastor Steve Clark preaching

For this Sunday, READ Romans 12:9-21 and REFLECT: In the original language of these verses, verses 9-13 start with a command ("let love be genuine") followed by a list of what such love looks like ("hating what is evil, holding fast to what is good" etc). How are you living out any of these characteristics? Do any seem especially difficult to you? Why? Do any seem easy? Why? Where in your life are you currently rejoicing with those who rejoice and/or weeping with those who weep (v. 15)? Why do you think the writer sees this as important for followers of Christ?

TO JOIN US in worship this Sunday, August 30, CLICK ON THE PICTURE above to go to our Concord website. Near the bottom of the home page, click on the graphic that reads "Welcome to worship at Concord Presbyterian - August 30, 2020" to connect with the worship video. The worship video will be accessible after 9:00am each Sunday morning.

Homecoming Tailgate – September 13 @ noon!

It’s been a long, long time that we’ve been apart. Here’s an opportunity to come together safely to welcome a new church season. While we won’t be worshiping together, we can still gather outside for a Tailgate Party!
Just bring your own food to eat and a chair, pop your trunk, and enjoy. If you want to decorate your trunk – that’s fine, too. We’ll plan some individual activities for the kids such as:

  • Jump rope
  • Bubbles to wave
  • Chalk drawing
  • Hula hoops

NEW!! Bring food for Hanover Food Pantry to Homecoming. We’ll have bins where you can put donations of canned/non-perishable goods.

We’ll do our best to keep everyone as safe as possible. We will:

  • Use every other parking space
  • Require people to wear masks except when they are eating/drinking
  • Keep appropriate social distances
  • And probably more

Mark this in your calendar. Space will be limited so this is one time when
we REALLY need people to SIGN UP IN ADVANCE – first come, first served.
Please respond to Nancy Tucker –

The Session has called a special Congregational Meeting for 12:00pm on Sunday, September 13. The meeting will be held in the parking lot of Concord Presbyterian Church. Business to be conducted at the meeting will be limited to the following items:

·        ELECTION of three at-large members to Nominating Committee. Names being presented for these positions are Jan Moore, Marj Johnson, and Ryan Moffett. Per meeting requirements, nominations from the floor may be offered.

·        AMENDMENT OF CORPORATION BY-LAWS to allow for electronic meetings of the congregation/corporation. The amendment, to be inserted as paragraph 5 in the bylaws with all following sections renumbered to reflect the change, shall read as follows:

The quorum for such a meeting shall be the same as for all Corporation meetings: one-tenth (1/10) of the Active Membership Roll of the church.

A reminder that this meeting shall be held during the Homecoming Tailgate gathering on September 13, so join us for the fellowship and fun as well!

Donations for Hanover Food Pantry - Sunday, September 13
"I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me. . ." (Matthew 25:35)

In this unsettled time, we’re all very aware of what we aren’t able to do. We also know there’s a lot of need in our community and world. So many of us are asking, How can I help?

Here’s one answer: Concord’s Mission Committee will be collecting canned goods and staples for Hanover Food Pantry at our Homecoming Tailgate on Sept.13. Please bring along non-perishable food donations and place in one of the designated containers.
