Trinity Sunday, May 30
Pastor Steve Clark preaching
For this Sunday, READ Acts
the whole chapter) and REFLECT: This is one of the longest
stories in the New Testament, and THE longest story in Acts - and
it's repeated in summary form in the very next chapter! What do you
see happening in the story that might make it so important to
the author of Acts? What do you see as the main message
of the story? How does that message apply to your life? To our life
as a congregation?

After more than
fourteen months of worshipping at a distance, connected only electronically via the
internet, our Concord family has resumed in-person
worship. Some of us are more than ready to resume worshiping
together in our sanctuary, and some of us are not yet ready or able
to attend in person. Recognizing that the threat of the virus is
still present, Session has worked to develop protocols and
procedures that will provide the safest environment we can for all
who gather in the sanctuary to worship. Please read and follow these procedures if
you plan to join us in person this Sunday.
IMPORTANT WORSHIP UPDATES: (1)
The newest guidance from the CDC about masking is great news,
confirming that the vaccines are working as well, or even better,
than hoped. HOWEVER, as we continue to do our Concord best to care
for one another in this time, MASKS will be required to be worn by
all who attend worship with us in the sanctuary. (2) We will keep
track of all those in attending via Connection/Prayer Request
cards. This will facilitate contact tracing should we learn that
anyone in attendance has tested positive for COVID-19. (3) So
that children may have the opportunity to better see Christina as she
presents the Children's Sermon, families with children may request
to be seated in a section of reserved pews at the front of
We will continue to provide an opportunity to worship on-line using our livestreaming equipment. You
can participate in the livestream at our new worship hour of
10:00am or view the recording later that day or at a future date.
These protocols and procedures will
be updated as guidance from the CDC and the state are
revised. We all look forward to the day when COVID protocols are no
longer needed. We also encourage all in our
Concord family to get vaccinated when you are eligible. Contact
your medical provider if you are unsure about whether to do so.

Church has been a long-time friend and supporter of Friendship
House. As in previous years, we have formed a team to raise funds
for Friendship House in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy
Community. All the money we raise goes to the programs at
Friendship House, programs that serve the homeless in New Castle
In 2020 we had a virtual walk, but in 2021 we
will walk together. Join us June 5 in Concord's parking
lot at 10:00am to walk a 5K course through our Fairfax
neighborhood. (A shorter course will also be available.) We hope
to recruit our neighbors in Fairfax and Deerhurst to walk with
us. Enjoy getting out for a good cause with Friendship
We hope you will join our Concord
team or donate to support the team or your favorite
walker. A generous friend of Friendship House will donate
another $1,000 for every team that raises $2,000 and recruits 20
walkers. We hope we are fortunate enough to reach those goals.
Please know that each walker and each donation is important. To
sign up, visit Highmark Walk for a Healthy
Community – Wilmington.

Flowers for June
Donating the flower arrangement for the
front of the sanctuary is a lovely way to honor or remember a
family member or commemorate a special occasion. The Flower Guild
has begun scheduling donations for the month of June. If you are
interested, please email Dottie Harding or contact Margaret O'Boyle in the Church
Office (302/654-9652). The cost for a standard arrangement is $35
