Keeping you connected to the life and ministry of

Concord Presbyterian Church!

World Communion Sunday*, October 3 @ 10:00am
Reception of New Members, Sacrament of Baptism
Psalm 100 & Colossians 2:6-7 - "Centered in Christ, Celebrating Grace"
Pastor Steve Clark preaching

For this Sunday, READ Psalm 100 and Colossians 2:6-7 and REFLECT: The psalmist exuberantly celebrates God's goodness and love. How/when have you experienced God's goodness and love? How/when have you celebrated? The apostle Paul encourages the Colossian Christians to continue being "rooted and built up" in Christ, and in doing so their lives will be "abounding in thanksgiving." What are you thankful to God for today? What can our Concord family be thankful for at this point in our story?
Join us for IN-PERSON WORSHIP on Sunday at 10:00am; doors open at 9:40am. We have developed guidelines for your safety, including social distancing, mask wearing, and collecting contact tracing information. Click here to read a complete list of these guidelines if you plan to attend. For those who are not yet ready or able to attend our service in person, a live-streamed/recorded option is available on our website.
To join us in WORSHIP ONLINE this Sunday, October 3, click on the picture above to go to our Concord website. Near the bottom of the home page, click on the same picture to connect with the worship video. The worship service will be available live at 10:00am Sunday morning or later in the day to view at your convenience.

*This Sunday we will celebrate the Lord's Supper as part of the service.
If joining us online, please have something ready for eating and something ready for drinking.

This Sunday during our J.A.M Session, we'll be putting together Blessing Bags containing basic essentials for distribution to those in need in our community. Pick one up on your way out of worship to keep in your car!

The Color of Compromise:
The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism

7:00-8:00pm Mondays (Zoom and recorded)
September 20 – November 15

Drawing on Jemar Tisby’s book of the same name, this video-based nine-session series provides a unique survey of American Christianity’s racial past, revealing the ways people of faith have worked against racial justice, as well as the complicit silence of racial moderates. We will look at tragic and often-ignored aspects of our past and suggests ways to foster a more just future among God’s people.
Participants are encouraged to get a copy of the book, The Color of Compromise, to read during with the 9-week series (available on Amazon and other bookseller sites). But everyone is welcome to join any or all sessions, even if you don’t have the book. Every session will be recorded and posted on our Concord website for those not able to connect with the live Zoom conversations. (Click here to view past sessions.)

Jamar Tisby (BA, University of Notre Dame; MDiv, Reformed Theological Seminary) is a Christian, historian, writer,
and speaker. He is the president of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective, where he writes about race,
religion, politics, and culture.

It was a joy to have 14 children/youth and 8 adults on the front lawn of the church Sunday morning for our 2nd J.A.M. Session where we heard the Parable of the Good Samaritan and created bead bracelets (a different color bead for each person in the story) to help us remember it. Also, Kaitlyn and girl scout/friend Nora, shared about the new Blessing Box with the group, extending the lesson into how we can be good neighbors.

Preschool and church staff past and present attended, and Lori received a number of gifts, including a memory quilt from the Preschool and a garden shop gift certificate from the church.

"Dear Leaders, Members, and Staff of Concord,
I can't express how thankful I am for your generous gift for my 20th anniversary. The party was wonderful, and I am humbled by how many attended. Thank you, Steve, for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend. It really means a lot to me.
My twenty years went by in a flash. This is because Concord is such a wonderful place. I really do love it here!!

Thanks again! Much love,
Lori Bigalow"
