"Vital Signs" - Luke 10:38-42, Psalm 52

     Once when I was attempting to make a decision and was in a process of “discernment,” a friend told me this: Think of your choices as Door #1, Door #2, and Door #3. Knock on a door [figuratively, of course] and see what happens. If the consequences are negative then it wasn’t the correct door.🙂
     In our spiritual life, it could be, “God, what do you want me to do?” The Gospel lesson Sunday is Luke 10: 38-42. Martha had some decisions to make. Do you think she made the best one?  What was Jesus’ take on her dilemma? Our OT lesson is Psalm 52 in which someone is being chastised for NOT making the right decisions. 
     Have you ever felt that God was asking too much of you? Follow the discipline of “prayer” to see the best doors to open. Our relationship with God helps us with those decisions.  
      Join us for IN-PERSON WORSHIP on Sundays at 10:00am; doors open at 9:40am. We have developed guidelines for your safety, including encouraging (but not requiring) mask wearing and social distancing. Summer Worship for Children 
Children are always welcome in worship here at Concord.
Children's Sermons will continue during the summer, and there will be quiet activities
available in the back of the sanctuary that children may take to the pews during the service.
J.A.M. Session will resume in September. 

 Prayer List
Prayers of thanks from Allene Goodfellow for all the cards, notes, & flowers she received in celebration of her "big" (100th) birthday.
Prayers of joy that Dan Voelker's eye surgery last week went well.
A joy that Carol Lind is finished with dialysis as of Monday afternoon & feeling a bit better.
Prayers for Kathie Pownall, recovering from a stomach 'bug.'
Prayers of healing & recovery for June Tshudy, hospitalized for injuries following a fall. She was scheduled to go to Shipley Manor for rehab Wed. & then to an assisted living facility.
Two joys for Joyce Johnson - she had an unexpected visit from her granddaughter from VA & later this month she is traveling to the west coast with her son & his wife for the wedding of another granddaughter.
Prayers for Edee & Bob Fenimore - both have tested positive for COVID.
Continued healing prayers for Ginnie Mayforth, still in Health Center at Cokesbury & unable to walk.
Prayers for Joanne, a friend of Joyce Johnson & Marj Johnson, who has been dealing with melanoma & is now back in the hospital.
Prayers for the youth & leaders participating in Mission-at-Home Week - may they grow by helping others & build closer bonds while enjoying fellowship activities.
 Prayers for the world this week: for an end to gun violence; for those uprooted from home & seeking safety; for victims of floods, fires & storms; for those suffering from famine & food insecurity; for an end to intolerance; for countries in political turmoil.
