Keeping you connected to the life and ministry of

Concord Presbyterian Church!

Sunday, July 17 @ 10:00am
"Vital Signs" - Luke 10:38-42, Psalm 52
Rev. Kathie Pownall preaching

Once when I was attempting to make a decision and was in a process of “discernment,” a friend told me this: Think of your choices as Door #1, Door #2, and Door #3. Knock on a door [figuratively, of course] and see what happens. If the consequences are negative then it wasn’t the correct door.🙂
In our spiritual life, it could be, “God, what do you want me to do?” The Gospel lesson Sunday is Luke 10: 38-42. Martha had some decisions to make. Do you think she made the best one?  What was Jesus’ take on her dilemma? Our OT lesson is Psalm 52 in which someone is being chastised for NOT making the right decisions.
Have you ever felt that God was asking too much of you? Follow the discipline of “prayer” to see the best doors to open. Our relationship with God helps us with those decisions.

Join us for IN-PERSON WORSHIP on Sundays at 10:00am; doors open at 9:40am. We have developed guidelines for your safety, including encouraging (but not requiring) mask wearing and social distancing. Click here to read a complete list of these guidelines if you plan to attend. For those who are not yet ready or able to attend our service in person, a live-streamed/ recorded option is available on our website.
To join us in WORSHIP ONLINE July 17, click on the picture above to go to our Concord website. Near the bottom of the home page, click on the same picture to connect with the worship video. The worship service will be available live at 10:00am Sunday morning or later in the day to view at your convenience.

Summer Worship for Children
Children are always welcome in worship here at Concord.
Children's Sermons will continue during the summer, and there will be quiet activities
available in the back of the sanctuary that children may take to the pews during the service.
J.A.M. Session will resume in September.

Youth Mission-at-Home Week - Wed., July 13
Youth participants spent their second morning at the Friendship House Clothing Bank in Wilmington, sorting and loading clothing donations. The afternoon was spent in the air-conditioned comfort of a local bowling alley, enjoying some well-deserved fun and relaxation.

Now that the 2022 General Assembly has ended (June 18-July 9) – the first-ever hybrid assembly – the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) will try to live into the commitments made and the work ahead. Ruth Santana-Grace and Shavon Starling-Louis, the new co-moderators, stood for election using the theme “Unbounded We Thrive,” and the assembly spoke its mind on issues affecting the church and the world.

Following the service, you may choose to take the flowers home or leave them for delivery to one of our homebound members.
