CHRISTMAS
AT SEA
Seamen’s Center of
Wilmington
The goal of the
Christmas at Sea Program is to give a ditty box (a shoebox filled
with gifts) to every seafarer arriving in Delaware during the
holiday season. Last year the Seamen's Center provided gifts to
over 1,000 mariners. The boxes are filled with essentials (all
full-sized), a hand-knit hat and scarf, and a few goodies.
The Mission & Congregational Life Committee invite
you to pick up a shoe box (list of items inside) in the back of
the sanctuary on Sundays. We will also have some boxes available
just outside the Church Office. We recommend you shop at your
local Dollar Store to find the requested items at a very
reasonable cost. If you cannot find all the items, don’t worry –
we’re willing to provide the hard-to-find products.
Ditty Boxes should be brought to church by Sunday,
November 24.
Your generosity is ALWAYS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
Please contact Dottie Lund (dottielund@comcast.net)
or Marj Johnson (marjcj@comcast.net)
with any questions.

Carol, Ron and Bob,
thank you so much for everything you did to make the LWVNCC forum
on Friday Oct 25 a success! The facility was amazing and
the sound, slides and lighting were perfect!
The League believes that candidates for
local elections do not always get the visibility to help voters
make informed decisions. So we appreciate your giving up your
evening to make it possible for us provide this valuable service to
voters...
Thanks again,
Joyce Ford and Martha Gessler

The co-chairs of the Guatemala Project for
the New Castle Presbytery sent this note of thanks to Concord:
Thank you for organizing the opportunity for Pamela and Betsy
to present at Concord. What a lovely evening, with an
engaged audience! It was a perfect evening. Please thank Dottie
(Lund) and all the folks who gave their time and clever hands to
serve and clean up! Just a great opportunity for us to meet like
minded folks.
With much gratitude,
Cathy Higgins and Carrie Saathoff
