"Called by
Name" - Luke 3:15-17, 21-22
Pastor Eric Markman
preaching
This Sunday we celebrate
Jesus' Baptism. We will hear from John the Baptist, King Herod
enters the scene, but the story culminates with Jesus' baptism and
the Holy Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him - and a whole new
ministry starts. A ministry of compassion, a ministry of healing, a
ministry that valued every human being. We can choose to open
ourselves to Jesus' words and have a beautiful and amazing way to
live one's life.
Join us for
IN-PERSON WORSHIP on Sunday at 10:00am; doors open at 9:40am.

Counting Our Chickens!
A Thank You Message from Guatemala
(and there is still time to give)
Thank you, Gracias, Chjonte! During our recent Chicken Project campaign,
churches in the New Castle Presbytery raised funds for 1,800
chickens! This means that 90 indigenous women will each
receive a set of 20 chicks, feed and training in 2025.
We invite you to watch this video to hear a
personal thank you message from one of the participants who has
already used her profits to upgrade to turkeys!
When this pilot project began in August 2023, a group of 37 women
received $250 each to buy their first 20 chickens. After two years
of raising, selling and re-purchasing chickens, these women were
able to pay back 50% (or $125) of the original amount to the
Association, as promised, and continue the project unassisted.
Success! The returned funds - paired with your recent donations -
will be used to jump start 100 more women who are anxious to begin
raising chickens.
This project will continue into the new year, so if you have not
made a gift yet, there is still time. To learn more about this
project, click here. Custom gift cards for
any occasion are available. Thank you for your generosity!

WINNER, WINNER, Chicken
Dinner!
A huge
THANK YOU to Concord members who donated over $1,145 to the
Guatemala Chicken Project in December. Hopefully, those of you
who got a Delaware Blue Hen have it proudly displayed. Don't
forget, the project is ongoing during January, so you still have
time to donate and receive a Blue Hen. See the Red Barn donation
table at the rear of the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings.

During Wondering Time on
Epiphany Sunday, Christina & the children reenacted the journey
of the Magi.

Liz Rowe shared photos
from the family's trip to Berlin in early December. They were
visiting Marie, whom some will remember from when she was here as
an exchange student in High School. Her baby, Karl, is 11
months old! The group shot is all of us enjoying some curry
wurst - Phoebe, Marie, her partner Jan (the Eagles hat was a
gift!), Karl in the carrier, Rachael (Brian’s fiancée), Brian, and
Liz.
